Well it happened. I chipped the paint on my 2006 purple mastiff. I fumbled the gas cap and it ended up tagging the rear fender. It's causing me to lose sleep so, I'm heading out now to remove the fender. Does anybody happen to know the paint code for this purple puppy?

Find a local reputable collision shop that has or can access a scanner that reads and matches thenoaint perfectly
This does not always work. Had that done with my Mustang when someone backed into the rear bumper. It ended up three shades darker in the sunlight.

Ha! That's exactly what my riding buddies said while I was standing there at the gas pump in deep sadness wanting to kick my own ass. :oldswear: I'm just going to fix the chip with filler and re-spray base and clear in my garage... quart of paint probly $150 but it be there for the next time?

I was able to get a 1/2 pint of paint mixed just recently for something and was surprised they would mix that small of an amount, it cost me $28 and it was a new color with pearl added, so maybe it won't cost too much

You got it right. The current hardware 3/16-16 hardened alloy ASTM 574. One was broke so, bigger hardware is in order. The bike doesn't have 2000 miles on it and it has never been 2up. I just ordered rear pegs, need more safety.

I think there was a recall on the bolts not sure which years and models
There was a recall, and what they did was go from Grade 5 to Grade 8, it is not necessary to go bigger, I've been riding 2 up since day one and never had a problem. On my 07' the bolt heads are counter bored into the strut and a 7/16 socket head bolt would not fit, let alone drilling and retapping the 7/16 threads.
