2005 mastiff handlebar wiring

Hello, I hope this topic's not too beat up. I understand that big dog uses a ground system for The handlebar wiring and Harley uses the 12-volt system, but I'm curious if that's for the lights as well. I'm using a namz harness and trying to get blinkers and headlights working and thinking slam button for starter. Or small start button somewhere.

Lights are 12 volts

The inputs to the controller go to ground when activated and use small wires not rated for much current.
