Well guys I did it. I'm now the proud owner of a 2005 Big Dog Chopper. Its not perfect but its right up my alley. Got layed down once, so the shifter and the licence plate bracket has some rash on it, plate braket took the brunt of it, gonna have to do something with that. Other than that, its gonna need a new front tire, has some cracking in the tread, and looks like the front fork seals leak. He said the front caliper leaked but I see no signs, think the fork oil is dripping down the fork and making the pads wet. But all in all I couldn't be happier, runs and rides great. And best part of all, I got it for $7200, think I got a great deal, and with a work, it will be top notch!!!

Never rode a chopper before but man does this thing ride nice, not much different than my old softail.

Congrats Twisted!! Nice ride and great price! :2thumbs:

Take Kaptin up on his parts and service - top notch! I bought my 03 this spring and he helped me transform (upgrade) it to the bike I have always wanted!

Got it all registered and insured today, just got back from a nice ride. These bikes are bad-ass! Gotta address the front tire asap, and the leaky fork seals, there running down the fork and getting my front pads all wet, no good. Love this bike!!!!!

 Congratulations with your ride. Make sure to get with Curtis on those front fork seals.

I really like the SS 117 on the gas tank and the paint is bad ass.

Congratulations on the new scoot.
Personally, I would rather have an ’05 over an ’04 strictly because of the ’04 has a cam sensor ignition and the ’05 has a crank sensor ignition. I just think that the crank sensor is a less prone to heat damage than the cam sensor, although the crank sensor on my ’06 has failed before.
Don’t forget to replace the brake pads at the same time as the fork seals. Oil on brake pads is a fire starter.

Thanks, yea, I plan on new pads too, fronts don't work so great cause they got wet. Didn't even think about it lighting up though , good to know!!! Picked up a battery tender today, and I gotta get a bike jack, gave my last one away when I sold the Softail, should have known better. Going away next week , so I'll have to order the parts once I get home. Front tire, fork kit, and some new pads, also gonna do the fluids just in case. Then the bike should be 100% mechanical wise. Anything else can wait till the winter.
