2004 Ridgeback (or Pitbull) Sissy Bar (12 inch)

I'm having a hard time finding a sissy bar for my bike. BDM discontinued them because their supplier has a minimum order and they advised they do not sell that many to justify the big order. On the 2004's, the struts have to be replaced with a thicker meatier version of the original. With this being discontinued, my only other option is a pricey custom/fabricated sissy bar. Does anyone have a suggestion where to locate a factory one or ideas on fabricating existing struts?? Thanks....

Stand by, the intro police will be here shortly. To answer your question though I see them pop up on ebay periodically.

Click the forum tab, go to the introduction topic and tell us a little about yourself. They're pretty big on that here.

I guess I was lucky I bought my ridge w/ the sissy bar already on it. It was hell trying to get a luggage rack though. Finally found one in the swap meet section.

Thanks for the tip on the intro, passed right over it. Guess I was too anxious to find my sissy bar. Thanks Gunny.

Hey Calvin, first off welcome to the pound! I have a Pitbull and I found the same issue trying to find a sissy bar. Look up the sticky's in metal fab and you will see a write up I did on making one for my bike. It's pretty cheap and easy to make one yourself with very basic tools and a little ingnuity. Here is the link in case you didn't scroll down that far when looking.

Welcome Calvin, your bike came without reciever struts as well as the 05's. We have a BDM seller on eBay that sells a lot of excess parts so keep an eye on Shovelheadkicker and BDMpartsking (same guy). He offers these parts evey once in a while.
The newer bikes all have receiver struts now so these owners haven't suffered like we have. Hope you find a set soon.

Welcome to the forum and remember to keep your bike on a battery tender

Two weeks ago there was a set of struts and the sissybar on Ebay that sold for $243 slightly used but they looked good. Shovelhead had them.
