Work my butt off today...got the forks done and lord i like to have never got the lowers cleaned out from years of sludge...got the fall away set really nice...got the front wheel and rear wheel bearings changed...got the back tire tracking way better than it was...back brakes was wore out got those changed...clutch needed some adjusting and its smooth now...

Took it for a ride and i noticed going down the driveway the mph wasn't working on the speedo so i turned around and put it back on the lift...cleaned the sensor and rolled the wheel and still nothing...got a new one out of the cabinet an installed it, bingo it worked like it should....i rode it 15 miles and all seems just fine... its ready to go home

My wife of going on 47 years in January, {the best friend since Jesus I have ever had} has a heart for rescue dogs . We have two little rescues apart of our little family. She is a good woman for sure. Several years ago, I had an opportunity to rescue an one myself. The timing was not right at all, the place I worked at for the last 25 years had just closed the doors forever. We did it anyway. It had been left out in the weather, rain and snow a few months and needed some TLC. I did the best I knew to do for it, some of ya'll give me directives to better take care it several years ago. I look back now and remember names Like Raywood, Kurtis, Andrew, and the list goes on. I kinda made the ole dog a promise it would never sit in the rain and snow ever again, I was able to keep that up. Today, in just a little while the wife and I are going after the ole dog where I left it last Monday morning to get better care than I was able to give it. It does have a new cover to cover it up. Thrilled to be going after the ole Dog, and bringing it home too. Thank you all for still giving me great directives for the ole dog. How would have know that road would be taking me back home. Thank you to one of those folks where my Daddy comes from, that worked his stuff on it too, Mr. Knothead. :) It is going to be a great day! :) Ya'll have one too!

Ray ,I’ve missed this thread somehow but so glad to see you posting again like old times and so glad your bike is back to working again. Knott has worked his magic on quite a few bikes ,mine included ,that was ready to be pushed off a mountain Before .

We just got home a few minutes ago. The front end is fantastic now, no shake at all. Love the Dakota Speedo. Breaking down on the side of the road just a few days ago kind~a sucked, but turned into much better situation than it was then, thanks to ya'LL directing me towards Camden/ Mr. Knothead. Super nice people he and His wife, and He really worked his stuff on the ole Scooter. Thanks to everyone for your help, directing me to exactly where I needed to go to get it running again, but now it is in really great shape for me to ride it any where I take a notion to go. The wife really hints for me to sell it, :) , It is in great shape now, I am planning on riding it now much more! :) Thank you All very much! , especially the best I have ever seen on a ole dog, Knothead! My uncles both say he is top notch too!

I think in few, I'll get it out and go top it off with gas, just because! :) just 2 miles away! Yesterday on the way home, had an opportunity, no traffic, I just kind of blowed by my wife. She said it sounded good! :) That is a good sign!

I did take it for spin. It held 2.5 gallons, and rode and drove tottally different, no more vibration in the handle bars, and felt soo good. The old man likes it a lot! :)

:) Could be , like the fountain of youth thing! I have rode Suzuki's / Honda's pretty quick/fast ones in younger days, they have their place, not bad mouthing them at all. I think we in this place can/ will agree that twist of the throttle on an ole dog is what is different to say the least. I ride a lot more careful than I used too, there is nothing like back country roads , no traffic to speak of kind of sunny days. I feel like the ole Scooter and me are really ready now to take a few more roads out there some where more often now. I am retired , got time , with no rush anymore. The ole Scooter is in the best shape of it's life ready to take me down those roads too! The oil filter wix 51225 will be here maybe today, changing over to Schaeffer oil as I was directed and ordered a quart of schaeffer 75~140 for the transmiision. ! Then take a day trip somewhere! in the middle of the week! Knock off a few more years! , Lots of caffiene and goody's powders mixed together, and working crazy hours, 4 ~5 sleep a day, will make you age prematurely, I actually proved that theory! That city water did not turn my hair white!

I changed the oil this morning to Schaeffers, easy enough to do, and a good choice too. Waiting to change the transmission to Schaeffers too, when it get's here. Right now the ole Scooter is in the very best shape it has ever been in all thanks to Second Chance Customs! You know I had to take it for another spin this afternoon. It rides soooo good, feels different in the very best way. Absolutely thrilled with the entire outcome from being trailer home recently. I stopped by a ole friend's home who has been recently diagnosied with cancer. He is dealing with it well. I think he liked it when I asked him if he would like to take his picture on the ole scooter. He called my wife to tell her I was fixing to leave, her response was tell him to get home before dark! Do I get off that curfew thing when I turn 66 next month?
