Hey Guys

Had quite a few life changing events go on over the last 3 -4 weeks. I am 39 and just got out of Open Heart surgery. Got 4 kids and having my life pass before my eyes has me thinking its time to start spending more time with the family than getting it on with my bike. I am sure that down the road I will be back but for now I think its time to let this baby move on.

Very much customized Big Dog Pitbull. Only 3K miles and in mint condition. 107 S&S polished motor, BDL open primary, Edelbrock Double Trouble Nitrous bottles on each down tube, Nitrous purge from custom nozzles in tank with custom purge button on right side battery cover, custom spikes on the BDL cover, hyper white front light, clear lens, Milwaukee Iron front fender, lowered front end, rear axle chrome covers, Arlen Ness chrome rotors & mirrors, Aftermarket Big Dog grips, pegs, RPM gauge & cover, Wimmer intake, custom Choppers Inc. engraved points cover, Vance & Hines Big Radious pipes, remote LED lights hidden throughout bike and custom tribal carbon fiber pattern seat. This is the nicest Big Dog around with a very custom look. I don't have the time to ride my dream bike as I am newly remarried and now have 4 children. No accidents, never dropped. This bike turns everyone’s head cruising or even just idling at the local joint. It sounds as nasty as it looks. I picked up a nail in the rear tire so now it also has less than 20 miles on a brand new rear tire and I also had the EHC replaced to the most updated model, so all the electronics are up to date and the harness has a USB interface on it. I have all receipts for work done on it, well over 40k invested into the bike. All work was done by Iron Thunder Motorcycles in Raleigh NC. I have many detailed pictures available. Bike has been absolutely babied and is in pristine condition.

Hoping for 23k for the bike. I can be contacted at bill.niersbach@gmail.com and I will assist in any way I can to ship the bike if it needs to travel. I do not have a trailer or a truck any longer, so delivery will not be possible.

Thanks Lars....yeah its been an UGLY 3 weeks...let me tell you!!! I am only 39, exercise 3 - 4 times a week, have never smoked in my life, have a normal cholesterol level....its a totally freek thing. Luckily I was running one morning and was getting all sorts of pain in my left wrist, i figured I pulled or pinched something and went home.....few days later same thing happened with my wife running with me and she MADE me go see a dr. Within a week of the first Dr appt I was in the hospital getting open heart single bypass for a 95 percent blockage in my coronary artery. Everything else was completely fine so the doc figures its a family history thing. Still, its a rough thing, but I consider myself very lucky as I could have found out about it while having a heart attack in the middle of the street vice a pain in my wrist.

Here are a few pics of me in the hospital immediately after coming out of surgery but still in ICU

Damn, RedRider - that's a scary story - glad to hear you're ok now - those pics don't look like any fun!

At least they coulda rolled your bike in next to the bed so you'd wake up to something familiar and comforting! :D

Yeah man....I am a pretty ugly M-effer as it is, but those pics really put it over the top!!! LOL

Here is one of my new zipper taken prolly 8 days after surgery. The holes are where the drainage tubes were, but the zipper they just super glue shut so it heals pretty quickly!

Maybe you could tell us novices a little more about that nitrous setup.

I know the concept, but none of the installation or operational details. What all does it entail?

I bet it really rips!

On the NOS, I have a switch on the side of the ignition box, you can see the little black switch on the box. When this is "on" it bypasses the horn button on the controls and turns it into a NOS button. THe system is progressive, so it will only kick in at 4000 rpm, and its only a 25 hp shot so its not as devastating as people think. It only pulls for 2000 rpm and thats it, Think of it as a passing gear with a ton of pull. realistically the bike prolly has 100 - 120 hp at the rear wheel, add the NOS and suddenly you get an extra 20 percent of power.

To be honest, it was on the bike when I bought it, and from the looks of the guy I bought it from, I would say it was only ever used on the dyno when it was initially installed. He initially didnt even have it hooked up, was ridiculed by some of his buddies for it, so he turned around and dropped big bucks on a really nice system. Its really more for show than anything else....I mean how often are you really gonna hit it on the street??? The purge valve is the really cool part of the system. If you ever have been to drag races, you see them "purge" their systems (get all the air out of the lines) and it sprays all up the windshield of the drag cars....well there are nozzles on the front of the fuel tanks, and you can see the button on the right side of the battery box on mine....it will shoot out the spray like a snorting bull....its pretty sweet to screw around with. And it really scares the crap out of the rice burners, as they have no idea how big a shot I have and for all they know it could be a 200 hp bike with NOS (It sure as hell looks and sounds like one!!!)

Thanks, RedRider - sounds like a RIOT to ride. I sure hope you can find someone who appreciates what they're getting.

Don't feel bad redrider. I'm 40 and at 38 I had a defibralator put in me because I was a candidate to have a heart attack. I know how you feel. I've had this machine which also act as a pace maker in my chest for 2 years now and no problems. You'll be fine, just keep on doing what you do. You might want to reconsider selling the bike once the weather gets better or you have had time to heal. Shit you might even say you need the bike down the road to make you feel better. There's nothing like the open road.

Damn Red Rider, Glad you made it through your ordeal. That sucks for sure and at least it was caught early enough so you can still enjoy life. Take care of yourself and if you need something ask.

I Agree Don't be too quick to sell..... give it some time and see.. some times a good ride can be very recuperating.. We'll keep you in our prayers.. John
