Ok a friend of mine has a 2004 put bull.
He just got a set of struts and a bar.
I'm going to get together with him to install it for him.
I want to show up prepared.
Anyone have instructions for this model?
Do I need to remove the rear wheel?
I did one on my 08 mutt and didn't need to.
Thanks for any input.

I think you can get away with not removing the tire.... be sure to unplug the tag and rear light plugs. The biggest pain is going to be the lights as the wires go thru the struts. Just my :zz2cents:

I assume the 04 Pit is similiar to the 04 Ridgeback. You are going to need to remove the fender, so I dont think its necessary to remove the wheel.

On the ridgid there was 5 bolts holding the fender on, 2 on each side in the struts and one down near the oil tank. Fender then slide up & out.

Now im going to save you messing this up like I did

The old fender struts that he has the taillight mounting bolt is fastened from the inside of the fender through strut into the taillight housing. For some reason they did not thread the sissybar struts the same so you will have to fasten it from the inside of the taillight housing. You will need to drill out the taillight housing threads insert the hollow bolt and run the wires through and tighten it down inside the housing.

One more thing, those clips in the taillight are pain in the ass but you should be able to push the clip in on them and slide out the wire, dont cut it!

Hope that helps...if you dont understand what I'm talking about you will as soon as you do it
