Well, The headlight is apart and looks to be fine and all the connections. Turned to key on and the power light on the EHC and the Low Beam light was on. Tried to start it and the red light didnt blink on the ignition control module, so I new it wouldnt fire. No spark.. Plugged the light back in and it came on and slowly fadded out?!?!?!?!?!? WTF!?!?!? I dont think it is the start/ stop switch because when I hit off and try to start its doesnt do anything. What could it be?? What is draining the battery if its not on a trickle charger?????

Once you get that thing started get an ohm meter on it while it's running and see what kind of reading you get. You may have a bad V/R. Get the battery tender on it and charge that thing up, then start it. As avdhunter said, it sounds like your battery is outta juice.

Nope, Plenty of juice.. Something with that headlight has to be shorting out or something. Turns over like a bear, just no spark and like I said the damn Ignition module red light isnt flickering as it turns over and I know it will fire if that damn thing blinks... No Clue. A Short???

Thanks Again

It has to have something with he headlight because soon as I turn the key on the headlight dims like its shorting out to nothing and all the outher lights work!! The motor turns like a bear but no spark or fire. Just got a new cam sensor. The dam indicator light will not light up on the ignition module, That being said I know it wont fire without that light blinking as it turns over.. Could it be a short causing my EHC to not let the ignition send spark?? No Clue..

If its turning over and the Thunderheart is not blinking that sounds to me like the crank sensor. That doesn't explain the light but just sayin!

Yea, I just had that replaced at Big Dog of Tampa and they told me the EHC was fine and that why i am thinking that that headlight has something to do with it??

:iagree:there could be a problem with the install of the new cam sensor.you know maybe a wire came loose or something, however with that being said the original ehc"s were crap and the headlight was a symtom of ehc failure.now that dosent mean it cant be anything else I'm just stating what has happened to me and a few other guys.since you just had a new cam sensor installed i would be checking that install just for chits and giggles.

You disconnected the headlight and nothing changed right?so if you think it has something to do with the headlight I would do 2 things, disconnect the plug at the left side control,I would also chase the wires from the headlight back looking for shorts and what not.thats just me

Thats my next step MoB, I alredy have the light off and the plug looks fine. I am goin to pull the tanks and check all the wire , but this damn bike already had wiring problems under the tank and it was corrected.. I dont know.

Hey mob, I took the cover off to look at the cam sensor and they said they had to splice a new upgraded harness.. It didnt look like they did shit!>!>! Am I looking at the right thing. Right by my right boot the 2 screws???? I need to have my shit in one sock when I send it off. After talking to Bob at The main BD shop , he said it could be the cam sensor. Then I called back the dealership and he said he just spoke with hi=m also and it could be that same issue.. He was back peddling?? How can I be sure they did what they said?

In your first post you said it was getting spark when you cranked it over so the cam sensor would be working. A simple check is to lift your seat and look at your Thunderheart ign module (silver rectangle with thunderheart logo on it). As you crank it over a green light should blink on and off each time it fires. Also again confirm you have spark by laying a spark plug on your heads and see it spark as you turn it over. Make sure plug is grounded to bike. Should be a nice strong arc.
As far as checking the work done the cam sensor the splice would be in your main harness from the nose cone(follow the cam sensor wire out the nosecone and up into the harness) about 8" up. If it was a BD part it would just plug in and if a HD part it would be spliced. Good Luck!

Can I get mine in Black Cherry????:D He stated earlier that the light on Thunderheart was not blinking while cranking over hence why I told him to check cam sensor. I am betting on the sensor or the wiring associated with it!
