HMMMMM?? Had a problem with the ignition just turning off like you turned off the key. Usually just once or twice and then would work OK. Got worse untill I got stranded on the side of the road and it would not fire. Next morning when i showed up with the truck to haul it home, it started just fine. GRRRRRRR!!!! Tried running a fused/switched 12v wire from the battery to the coil, ran the 2 EHC wires and the red and black coil wires through the same switch. Blew the 15amp fuse right off when the switch was thrown. Sat down, had a cool one, scratched my head and drew the whole thing out on paper. It should work said i, and flipped the switch blowing another fuse. So, being the electrical guy that i think i am, backed up 5 yards and punted. I installed a flip switch for the new 12 volt supply line, reconnected the rest of the wires back like stock through the BDM key switch and HAZZAH, it works just fine. Kill switch on bars doesn't work now of course but you can turn the key off and the bike still runs. Test rides so far show no sign of the old problem, I figure it's because I'm not far enough from home yet. hahaha
Thanks for the "how to" info cuz i was stumped.

I think he meant the ignition system. I had this same issue with my EHC randomly cutting power to the ignition/coils so I rewired it in a similar fashion.

EHC FREE!!!!
I had a similar problem. In my case, I replaced the ignition and then the EHC and it fixed everything. Now I am in the process of putting the wire plus on and changing out the key.
