Lost seat bolt, only one I can find is1/4 in. It will start but will not go down all the way. Is that a different size or is a fine thread?

Before someone else yells at you, you should do a intro. Click on forms it's the first one.

Im working on a 04 Chopper 107 S&S with a super G carb. Bike hasn't run for a year and would not start. It would crank over but no pop. I unhooked the carb drained the tank and flushed, changed the plugs and sat the gap at .oo4o, added fresh fuel charged the battery and still wouldn't start, I sprayed gasoline into the carb and finally got it to pop a few times. It seemed not to be getting any fuel. I pulled the drain plug from the float bowel got very little out of it. I opened the pit cock nothing came out. I shot a blast of compressed air through the drain opening in an attempt to get the floats to move. Finally I put the drain plug back in I opened the " enriched valve 30% and got it started but the rpms were high and when I cracked the throttle it would die. if I adjusted the enricher it would die. I don't know if its possible but the bike will idle really fast idle but the slightest Change and it dies. My question is can the bike run on fuel from the enriched even with a pluged

Is there a steady flow of fuel coming out of the petcock? (Up at the tank)

You can also disconnect the fuel line from the fuel inlet at the carb.

We need to know if steady flow is making it to the carb first.

Then we can move on to the carb issue.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I have plenty of fuel at carb. It sounds really odd but with 30% open the bike will start and run about 1500 RPMs. when I crack the troddle it acts as if the added air leans out the fuel and it dies. If its running on 30% of thje enricher and I cut the enrichment back it seams to get to rich and dies. could the main jet be plugged?

Most dont use the enrichener. It fouls plugs real quick. When the carb is adjusted and jetted properly it should only take 1-2 twists of the throttle and then start. Follow what Savage 1 has said first.

EDIT: be sure to replace the 2 rubber caps on the top of the carb. Bet they dry rotted....

Thanks for tjhe info, I didn't think to much of the enricher idea anyway. If I forget to close it after getting warmed up there aret of bad side effects from the extra fuel. My experience has been if the bike is in tune I won't need the choke to start. Thanks!

Meticulous cleaning will be key to your success Boss.

Also, remember, those are basic settings. You will still have to dial her in.

There is an air bleed by the bowl. If you get flutter in mid range, try removing that plug. I run drag pipes and a big sucker. Once I removed that plug, the bike ran perfect. It equalizes atmospheric pressure in the bowl on a stock set-up, but with drag race set-up, the bleed needs to go!

You can download S&S E&G tuning guidance from S&S website as well. That will provide some great details that should help ya out.

Keep us posted and have fun wrenching!
