I bought this bike few months ago and love it. I checked 3 wires to speedo for ground-ok,,,12 volt ok,,,and have 2.4 volts at green wire when turning back wheel. So is sensor ok? Or /and is speedo gone bad?? I suppose I need new tach ring but cant find one anywhere?? Need advice and where to get parts???

My speedo quit last year at Sturgis—got home and checked it out—- got similar results to yours. Called Dakota Digital and the tech there explained that the most important thing is that the sending unit drop to almost zero between the pulses (and the pulses bounced all over the place) when turning the back wheel. I originally figured that since the thing was sending voltage out to the speedo, it was OK——Wrong—-Apparently the thing reads the pulses. Recalled that there was a sensor in my spare K9 transmission—switched it over——all correct in the world once again….

Well got new sensor tried it with old speedo and no luck. Put new Digital speedo in and works now. So guess it was speedo. Big Dog in Kansas said end of next month will have Tach rings.

I have a 2004 Big Dog Ridgeback chopper. My bike already has the updated digital Speedo. I was checking the mileage on the bike, pressing the mode button and I must've did something wrong and it switched my speedo to kilometers. Does anyone know how to switch it back to miles per hour?

Thanks
JP
