Well here I go. 04 texas chopper. I am very mechanically inclined. No I cant rebuild a transmission but can do a clutch. Ive been riding for over twenty years. Live in southern california.

where is the drain valve for the oil? Do I need a scavenger, are they expensive?
How tough is it to adjust the ride suspension? Mine bottoms out a lot with a passenger. Mine is adjustable series 422 I think.

Does anyone else have trouble getting the bike in neutral when stopped? Is this an AIH issue?
The fuel petcock is locking up. Any cheap replacement ideas?

My horn is too quiet. Any ideas? Yes this was a joke.

Thanks guys.

What? Uh-get a Big Dog, after all this is The Big Dog Biker Forum. No really, someone here will be able to steer you straight like Iman says. An introduction is the first step to let us find out something about you.

Welcome from Washington State, hope you enjoy the site. There's several AIH owners on here and I'm sure they'll chime in. Post up a pic of your scoot when you can...

Post an intro as others have said so we know about your mechanical ability and general location.

The answers are available, but only if you respect the house rules. :hi:

Welcome aboard. First time I have heard someone wanting a louder horn, tought that was what the loud pipes are for. You can always hang a cow bell on there. I'll check with a friend that rides one of those and see if he can help with your problems.

Sorry about all the jokers on here.
1) Generally, you want to use a scavenger, google "motorcycle oil scavenger" to make sure you get all the oil out. Get one and it will have insructions on how to use our. Thanks RC, doh, drain plug under oil tank.
2) I don't know if the shocks on your AIH are adjustable or not. If they are you will see a large nut on the shaft side of the shock, under the bike. Turn that nut clockwise until you the desired stiffness but remember it also raises the ride height. If they aren't adjustable you will need to buy an adjustable set or get air rude. We have a nice set of adjustable socks here.
3) Neutral location could be several things. The cause is generally a clutch that is dragging just slightly. This could be from poor clutch adjustment, wrong oil in the primary our the transmission or your transmission may need to be rebuilt. We have a member on the forum that does transmission rebuilds. His forum name escapes me but Just do a site search for transmission rebuild and it will come up.
4) You should pull your tank, remove the peacock and do a thorough cleaning. Its probably locking up from junk in the tank. Otherwise PM me and I can get you a quality replacement.
4) Where is your horn located on your AIH? That will have a lot to do with this issue.

There are two drains. One is the sump on the bottom of the engine, and the other is at the oil tank. The drain for the tank is between the rear shocks if your is like my 2008.

I don't use a scavenger. I drain the sump and the tank, clean the tappet screen, change the oil filter, then start adding oil.

There is not a lot of travel at the rear. I adjusted mine to ride as high as possible to stop dragging the frame. I ride solo, so two up you may need to swap to the 422HDs to get the spring rate high enough for two up. If you do this be prepared to adjust the front to match. You migh get away with heavier shock oil, but springs might be required.

Neutral.....make sure all the heim joints are lubed and rotate freely. Also check that the clutch is not dragging. If you can shift into neutral while the bike is still moving, that is the easiest.

Pingel makes a replacement petcock, but it is not cheap. If you get in the habit of rotating the lever every fill up the seals last longer.

Horn, ya........:roll:r
