2003 Softail Chopper Directional Housing Issue

The rear left side directional/brake light is lose and rattles around. I opened it up and there is no way to tighten it. The mount ties in from inside the fender but it looks like a press fit to hold the chrome housing in place??

Put some JB Weld and it held for a bit but then came lose again...

What is the fix??

can't swear to it, but i believe it should have a thin nut and a star washer on the inside of the fender. believe you will have to remove the tire/wheel to get to it. the stem that goes through the fender should be hollow so the wires can run through it. might accidentally be able to slip a wrench in between the tire and the fender. good luck.

yes there is a bolt on the inside of the fender but what holds the housing on to the shaft that mounts to the fender?

When I remove the lens, you can see the housing came lose from the mount but it does not look broken and no way to re-tighten???

There is a nut inside of the fender but you don't have to take the wheel off. Just take out the back bolts on the strut and loosen the front ones then you can hinge the fender up. (ask me how I know).... I took my turn signals off and relocated them where the passenger pegs go and they were 1 piece so I think his cup broke or there might be a nut inside of the cup that came lose..

Could not see a nut inside...maybe it was pressed on??

As mentioned, was able to put it back in place and use JB Weld which held for a bit but too much vibration it appears...

Does anyone have a rear directionaloff a bike dissasembled they can show?
