I checked this one out, it's not in good shape as it is being projected to be.
The reason why the banks won't finance is that used choppers have very little value, especially ones that need thousands of investment to bring them up to par like is the case with this one, the sellers want max monies and refuse to acknowledge it's not worth what they are asking for it...

As a banker...you are all correct. My suggestion would be go to LightStream.com a division of SunTrust. Get a personal loan. You still have title in hand and you can even go a little more than what you are spending so you can get the parts you need to fix it up.

I used them when I bought my K9 from BRadd. Easy Peasy. Was even more simple than going through the Credit Union I worked for at the time.

Just some advice.

Looking forward to retirement
Plus guys, this is a 17 yr old bike. Harley shops have gotten to the point that they will not work on bikes that are older than 10 yrs old. I had to get damn nasty with the local Dodge dealer 3 weeks ago. We have been in negotiations to buy 5 new 3500 quad cabs for one of our business. When the service department said they would not work on my 2003 Dodge 3500 because it was to old I marched up to the Fleet sales manager and told him I was postponing turning in the Purchase order due to his service department. He asked why and I told him I had been driving Dodge since the early 1990’s. And my last personal truck was in 03. The truck was fantastic with 205,000 miles and I was still driving it. The problem was his service department refuses to work on it. With a $250,000.00 deal on the line. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen dealer executives almost go to blows in the service drive in area!!! Needless to say, in the end my truck is welcomed there any time now!
