2003 Mastiff Speedo Problem. PLEASE HELP

I have a 03 mastiff. About 4 months ago my rear tire rubbed through my left side tail light wiring. When this happened, my speedo/odometer quit at the same time. I pulled the seat off and unplugged the tail light untill I could get home to repair it. The speedo started working again but the odometer had reset to 0. I sent it to big dog to get the proper mileage reprogramed into it but it came back with the same mileage reading. And when i rode it, the needle would max out. I got a new speedo from big dog, it has the correct mileage reading, and the needle moves when you turn the key on. But when i ride, it registers 0. Any suggestions?? I am stumped.

Maybe the the speedo senser? I had one go bad in mine. It was a fairly easy fix as well. I am not sure how to test it though. Unless you know someone by you that has the same year and model bike.

I thought I remembered on here someone saying to take the sensor off and pass a screwdriver close to the end of the sensor...If it is working properly the needle should move on the speedo....:flag:
