2003 chopper and dakota digital HELP!!!!

Hey guys,
Has anyone installed the Dakota Digital 140 into an 03 chopper? The ODO and tach I have are separate units stacked on top of each other like this (8). The 03 has the wires soldered to the speedo board it looks like. The wiring is the same color but I dont want to cut the plug off the DD if I cant solder the wires and have it work properly. I just spoke to Don (Mad Dog) but he said he not familiar enough with them to say if it would work.. My current speedo works absolutely fine as of right now I just wanted to ugprade to the digital.

Its all apart right now so quick responses are appreciated.

Thanks

Jay

Unfortunately I went with the Auto Meter Speedo for that exact reason. No one could tell me if the DD would work properly. I could not find a connector to use with the DD speedo.

I still ended up snipping the wires then soldering the new ones together. I used a heat gun to shrink wrap the the joints. Then slid the factory wire cover back over. The connections are good and I have no problems except the Harley speed sensor. I am still looking for the right one. BTW-I also do not have a tach.

I had a Dakota digital on my Heritage springer and got rid of it because you could not see it in bright sunlight

Just cut the wires and solder them. BD uses those little micro connectors but nobody else does, so no matter what you will have to cut and solder or crimp in a deutsch. The colors should match up.
