2003 Big Dog Chopper

Wondering if anyone has or had a problem with Vibration? And if rubber mounts would help? Ridding speed of 55 to 60 is pretty calm anything above gets a vibration through the handlebars. Bad enough mirrors can't be used. Not sure if its coming from the motor? Not with the tires or alignment? Last, is it a characteristic of the Chopper?

I just replaced the bushings on the 04 Chop. I understand exactly what ur saying....above 2500 rpm they go nutz. The Pitbull used to be really bad until I put some handlebar dampners in and they made quite a difference. As I cant find the manufacturer anymore, I may resort to making a set? If I remember right, Mr Wright did a "how to" on making them?

Motor mounts are good? Tires balanced? That is definitely not characteristic of a chopper. I can run 80 smooth as a babies ass on both my BigDogs

Thanks for the heads up and reply. Tires Balanced, may need to check the mounts. I know they can run smoother than what I have experienced.

Handle bar vibration

Tapio is the one that turned me on to this. And as he was telling me about it I got to thinking. On my 03, the handle bar ends were to short for the grips to slide all the way on, so the end of the left one was squishy. So I took a piece of aluminum and drove it in the end of the bar to add...

You may want to check to see if someone replaced the original rubber handlebar bushings with polyurethane bushings. They help to stiffen up the handlebar, but the negative effect is you get more vibration.
