2002 Pitbull not charging

Bought a new battery and took the bike for a ride everything was good. Speedo was acting up after a little while. Got home and checked the volts while running and only showing 12.2. Do you think my stator and or voltage regulator are going bad. I think I will change both at the same time if you guys think thats the problem. All conections are clean and tight. Is there a reset switch on a circuit breaker for the 2002 year Pitbulls?
Any help would be appreciated. Hope everyone had a great Easter.

Are you sure??? Don't take me wrong... I am saying it because it did happen to me! once on re-attaching the Battery I left the VR cable disconnected!

Yes Franco,double checked everything yesterday. I've read where some bikes have a reset button and i wanted to se if I had one. I did not look for one yesterday because I didn't know about the button until I saw some earlier posts on this subject. Thank you sir.

Interestingly enough I am going thru the exact same thing right now. Plan on checking my VR and AC output tonight. Haven't been able to find a Circuit breaker on my bike yet. Let me know what you find and I will do the same.

Found the problem with my Pitbull. The previous owner had replaced the battery. When he did he put the wire from the voltage regulator on the negative battery terminal instead of the positive one. You can check my thread to see some of the steps I made to test everything out.

Maybe found my problem

Well,figured out why my Dogs not charging, my rotor is trashed. My mechanic said my primary chain was to tight and if you look close you can see there are no teeth left so it was wobbling around. Thats what you get when you by a used bike from someone who thinks they know what there doing. I'm guessing that's why my speedo would start going haywire after 5 miles or so. I keep it on a tender and when the battery would start losing power the speedo would act up. I will let you know if that solved my speedo issue when im back on the road.

That would do it alright. Hope that corrects all your issues. Both of us bought the same year, model and color bike used. Going thru and sorting out the issues is part of what makes it our own.

Not sure if the cause of that would be the chain being too tight.... I've seen many posts in this Forum with the same exact problem...

I will be checking mine next month.
