Summary
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL TANKS MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY MOUNTED TO THE MOTORCYCLE. THIS CAN PUT UNNECESSARY STRESS ON THE TANK MOUNTING TABS, CAUSING THESE TABS TO FAIL, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF FUEL SPILLAGE.


Consequence
FUEL SPILLAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.


Remedy
DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE TANKS, REPLACE THE MOUNTING GROMMETS AND RELATED HARDWARE, AND REMOUNT THE TANKS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN APRIL 1, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BIG DOG AT 1-316-267-2597.

Didn't they have this problem with the Mastiffs too. I couldn't get the SOBs at Joe Harrison motorsports in San Antonio to fix mine they said it wasn't covered under warranty. Yet when I talk to the people at BIG DOG they said it was. Had a buddy of mine weld up the busted tab and fixed the shit myself. The only thing Joe Harrison Motorsports in San Antonio is good for is clothes.
