2002 Big dog Pitbull fuel system

Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to fix up my 2002 big dog pitbull and one of the things I need is a new petcock. The one that is currently on the bike had a filter on it to filter the fuel going through it. I removed the filter on the petcock for some reason that escapes me and now I am going to buy a new petcock because it got all scratched up. I have tried looking for super g carburetor petcocks but none of them from what I have found come with a filter. I could very well be looking in the wrong places or using wrong search terms completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My '04 came stock with a petcock made by Pingel, available on line in many different configurations. Not sure what you mean by a "filter", but they come with a fine mesh screen to filter large debris that may be in your tank. Just Google "Pingel" and you're on your way.

I'm pretty sure that you can use Golan pet cocks as well as Pingel.

Since you've got one of the infamous discintegrating tank liner years I would make sure you have an inline filter! I just use an auto gas filter (clear) and stick it between the tank and petcock where I can see it.

John Sachs (on this forum ) recommends Golan petcocks. An in-line fuel filter is also a good idea. Pingel makes a clear one and Golan makes a chrome one.
