2-Up Seat for 2008 Mastiff - Ok for rear fender?

I think I heard that the preference is to go with a 2-up seat as opposed to a pillion suction seat so I started looking around - still haven't decided.

Question is - do 2-up seats sit directly on the rear fender to where they can damage the paint? :confused: I mostly ride alone - my wife is a fair-weather type of rider and only goes on short rides (movies, dinner, etc.) and I really want to maintain the paint on the bike...

BTW - I was able to finally bring the bike in to work for the first time since I bought it... :D Folks were just freaking out!!!! Guys foaming at the mouth.. :D :D :D :D

The pillion suction cups never damaged my fender, just make sure that the fender and cups are CLEAN.

The 2-up seat does have 2 suction cups in the back (similar to the solo seat)
I got caught in a nasty rainstorm last summer with the OL, and the cups scratched up my clear coat pretty bad...

Get the 2 up-definately a lot more secure and comfortable. I got the solo and 2 up both. For me it was a wise choice.

The single seat has two suction cups. the two-up seat has the same two suction cups, just located farther back. The pillion pad itself has SIX suction cups. Typically, it is stuff getting under the suction cups that will chafe and scratch the clear coat - so I figure the fewer the better.

Looks like BDM only offers one 2-up seat so I may just have to get one custom-ordered. I'm perusing the wickedbastardcycles.com site right now... I'll need a small sissy bar with pad, some pegs...

Yup - the "get out your wallet" comment from when I first signed up sure was right on the money (no pun intended) :)

I'll be ordering the 2 up seat from Nelson mainly cause the pussy pad slopes way down and my wife is constantly pushing her self back up where as the 2 up seat has more of a saddle shape to it holding her in place.


Dam, this sounds sexual!!!!! :D

I have had the pillion pad for the OL and now the two-up. According to my OL, the pillion is okay for short trips around town and bar hopping but the two-up is much much more comfortable all around.


Just remember,

If mama aint happy then no one is happy!

Kept the 2up on my chopper for the last year and have absolutely no trouble with the paint. I clean the cups and wipe down the fender every time I remove it though.
