But I see the difference here. There's a plate that adds the length while the BDM kit the length is built into the block and the block thickness hasn't changed while the plate I see in this pic is what 1/8" thick? That 1/8" thickness would give me the clearance I need.

Their not on Brews bike, they belong to BlueDog. We got these from JP Cycles, but I've seen them elsewhere. You will need to make an adaptor to make them fit an 05.

I have the same Kuryakyn Switchblades on my 06 K9 down tubes to function as highway pegs. Allows for movement of my legs during longer trips.
