2:1 Exhaust Choices...

Energy One

I’m wanting to try a performance 2:1 and ditch my VH BR 2:2. So far, I’ve looked at VH Pro Pipe, RB Racing and D&D. The RB and D&D are great pipes but from what I’ve read both are on the louder side which will cause problems here in Australia. I spoke to VH about the Pro Pipe but apparently nothing they have will fit. Does anyone have experience fitting something made for HD?

What other pipes should I be considering? Any knowledge and suggestions would be really appreciated.

Todd, get on to Rollies Speed Shop in Brisbane, they have the biggest range.
We can modify/make a suitable back bracket, just like i did with mine............no biggy.

Also Hooker Headers may have what your after, don't forget the local HD dealer, they don't want to see your bike, just your $ so they can usually scource anything you want. Cameron or Mark should sort you out if not ask for Don, don't talk to the woman who sells the cloths............may as well talk to a post.

I'm 95% sure that if it fits an EVO or Big Bore Evo style motors it will fit the Dog, just the back support is needing a touch up

RB makes a pipe that fits....... You may want to call D&D in Ft. Worth, they may be able to help.

Supertrapp makes a few 2 into 1 exhausts for wide tire applications. You would need to make a bracket for the rear mount.

I have a Stock 2-1 Kerker came on an 04 Rigid with a 250 tire would fit your bike I assume with the correct mount.

I assume it would be a lot of ship to Oz so I'm not sure if your interested but if you are send me a PM.

I didn't think of Supertrapp so thanks for the tip. Will do some quick research about performance.

I remember you saying that your pipes came off a HD softail but V&H didn't know where to start for a match. I need to take a look at your pipes closer.

Seems the pipes you suggested are the best for performance but noise level is a concern. Not only do the cops ping you for a healthy fine, you get points against your license.

I used a v/h pro-comp series and had a bracket built. Sounds like a fucking bazooka!!
Might be an option if I can shove a baffle or 2 up the rear.

I like the look of the stock Kerkers but how do they sound and perform?

Thanks for the feedback. Another option I thought of was to mod my BR heat sheiks so they don't drag and try Big City baffles. Heard good things about them.

I think some would be willing to argue that they are an excellent performance pipe 2-1. As far as sound, well its too quiet for my liking thats why I ditched them but I suppose thats what you are looking for.

I like my supertrapp 2 into 1. It's the factory pipe for 2008
I reworked the core and changed the discs.
Could be a cheap way to go if you find a factory one someone took off and change or modify the bafels.

Kerkers makes a good pipe but want to make sure it won't choke the power. Before ditching the kerker did you try to mod the stock pipe or see what others did to theres? Does the pipe have a removable baffle? And have others done any thing to increase performance.

Thanks
