Hi all - I have been wanting to get a bagger but not wanting to spend a lot of $. Still keeping my K9. I know someone selling a 1999 Electra Classic with 28,000 miles for $4k. Bike runs great and body looks good. Seems like a great deal especially since I know it has been very well maintained. Color is black. What do u all think? I am sure some of you have owned one of these in the past. Thanks

I sold my 1996 Ultra this year for 6K had 80K on it so if it's in good shape I would say that's a good deal.:2thumbs:
That should be a twin cam?????

I know it has EFI - is this a bad thing for this year? I know the bike runs extremely well. Are these things slow as shit stock? Read that the 0-60mph is 8.7 sec. Seems really slow - not buying to drag race but surprised it isn't a little quicker

My 1996 was first year EFI and ran great not near the power I have with the 103, true duels and Power Commander but I road the shit out of it and took flawless road trips too.

Thanks all and BB Chop - I am pretty fired up about this - would be cool to add some aftermarket stuff to make it a little different.

I think 01 was the first year of Delphi efi.

Delphi is better than MM efi, but if you like the ride and don't notice any bad habits, then it really doesn't matter.

My comment was more knowing what you are getting into before you buy the bike.

Sounds good to me too .
Thats cheap . If it looks good and runs- snatch it up.
Post some pics.
Its great to have a touring bike for those long trips / weekends.
Keep us posted .

Yo... I'm doing the same thing... keeping my Mutt but buying the Ultra Classic Harley.... I've been investigating for some time... I believe you are getting a good deal. I would take it, especially knowing the care it was given.

It belongs to my brother in law - so I know what I am getting. He has it stored for the winter - but wants me to make up my mind by late feb so he can sell it prior to bike week if I don't want it. Just need to sell the wife.

Based upon feedback and cycle trader $4k seems like a killer deal.

Thanks for the feedback
