Hey everybody, heres a little back story on my BDM pitbull....when I bought the bike, it had been in a shed for about 7 or 8 yrs....wouldn't start. I cleaned carb and it fired up. Ran like a dream. Sounded amazing. 107 c.i. S&S! paint cleaned up beautifully. Still working on all the surface rust on the spokes n such....anyways. I rode it for a couple months no problems. One day while riding, bike died and seen smoke from in between tanks. Then battery wouldn't crank bike over. Jump started it and everything was good. Rode another 3 or 4 weeks and smoked again....this time I got scared, didn't want my bike to burn down so my dumb self started cutting wires off harness that went to turn signal box. Jumped bike again and rode about qtr mile and it shut off n hasn't started since. Dropped it off at a harley guys shop n he replaced everything LITERALLY except for the screamin eagle ignition box. Just ordered it used off ebay yesterday....there's my story. Now, question is....I know the 1998 model pitbull is supposed to be basically a harley evo bike....since big dog doesn't have a manual for anything before 1999....how can I get info?? Like any kind of wiring diagrams, what tires are recommended, oil change info....etc?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
