SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
I can only think of two paces where the VIN is on the bike: The frame neck and I suppose on the down tube stickers that came on the bike. Lots of guys take them off to clean up the appearance tho.
There is an engine serial number on the block above the crankshaft on the primary side, and the transmission has a serial # stamped on it too. I can only speak to K9’s, not Vintage—
Someone else might have more specific info——I’m pretty sure there isn’t a second bike VIN# stamped on the frame. I think the one on the neck is it.
I lived In KS a lot of years and do not recall ever having to produce two VIN’s on a motorcycle.

I have a 96 vintage and it only has one serial number stamped in the neck....the only other is what skodog said is the sticker on the downtube which mine still has that sticker on it.....but you shouldnt have to have but the one thats stamped in the neck

So sounds like for sure that the State Trooper who told you that was not correct. You should be good to go for your inspection with the stamped VIN on the neck. Like Knothead mentioned some bikes still have the sticker on the left side of the frame but some don’t. My 2000 doesn’t but my ‘04 does. Git ‘er Done! Oh yeah Welcome from Florida! Cheers Kcloss! :chopper:
