1957 Sporster 1200

This is my dad's was home over the weekend and took a quick pic for you guys. First year of the Sporster this is a 1200, welded on hard tail old skill style. This was his first Harley he chopped it and he's kept it all these years he wants to rebuild it someday. I think I may just build it for him. Just going to have the stock 1200 rebuilt and keep everything as stock as possible.

Cool bike! But I don't think the 1200cc engines came out until much later? Like a 57' would have a 900cc engine?

You are correct, 1200 was much later actually not until 1988. In 72 went to just 1,000. That's a 900 my mistake.

Sweet! I wish my dad still had his old 69 Sportster that he chopped and had me work on when I was a kid! There's a lot of memories there Eric!
