If this is for a K9, maybe you just need the collets that go with the tapered ends?

Marky Marc there was sayin somethin about that , ,collets? Haven't seen that application yet any idea where I get them? if I go that route !!
personally I like the idea of cutting it :D
.. I wonder how far those threads going to that sissy bar cuz I'm having problems with the old sissy bar bolts are snapping:job:

Hey Paul, I had the tapered ones with the collets and split one of my fender struts cause you can over tighten and blow it out the side, I cut .700 off of mine and used grade 8 bolts, the threads were deep enough on mine.
It did lower the luggage rack to the fender but I could still get a finger between them.

I like that idea. I'm gunna try that. The collets sound like just another part that could fail. I didn't want to go th hat route, thanks
