When I was gassing up a trucker pulled up next to me and jumped out. He says he just bought a new 08 K-9. He then asks me what size motor I have?
I told him all the newer bikes come with the 117. He tells me his is a 140! I say to my knowledge they don't offer that but he swears his dealer told him it was a 140 so I said cool and invited him to the website.

So, is there a newer motor being offered I haven't heard of for a mid-year release?

Doesn't sound right and if they have, it is news to most of us here. Hell if anything I would think if they did change motors it would be with an X-Wedge. Would be interesting to hear that they did for sure.

I have some ocean front property in Arizona I should sell him also.
Funny, the guy said he bought it in Phoenix!!!

I'm pretty sure it was a 117 but just had to ask. He was very sure of himself.

FS, I heard the X-Wedge would be a 121 or something like that. Anyone know for sure on this motor?

Thanks,
Ray

according to S&S at myrtle beach the X-Wedge comes in 117 and 121 and (160 not used in production bikes). Right from the S&S tech at there tent. The 117 is proprietary to Big Dog.
They had no information on any other size S&S engines other then the older 103/107/110/111/113/117/124 V-Twins. Nothing whatsoever on any 140.

The X wedge is suppose to be a 121 as mentioned. The only other factory S&S that size is the 145 Tribute and that ain't stock. Doesn't mean someone didn't have one put in. My local dealer says that he can order one if wanted. Who knows:confused:

Well, I pulled in to a Suzuki dealer last Sat after lunch with Alicat and ChopDave, (I'm looking for a DR400 to punish :reddevil:), and some guy pulls up next to my Dog with his Vulcan... picture the guy from the Hemi commercial's...

I nod to him and he said," Wow, that's different looking, doesn't look like it's got enough parts to run, what size engine is that?".

I told him, "Thanks, it's a 117..."

He very proudly responds, "Wow? Looks bigger than that, I got a 1500!", and nods like he's the shit:yesnod:...
   :roll:

I smiled and said,"Oh, Very nice."
and wondered if I could take him off the line while staying under 3000 rpm's...
but also wondering if he was hiding something that he wanted to show off?

While he might have been that dumb, when they are that confident it makes you wonder... but I also make alot of money playing cards with people like that when I decide to find out.

I get idiots like that all the time. My buddy has a shadow 1100. We went for a ride when I moved back home and he kept insisting on racing because his is 1100 and mine is only 117....100 yards later he let me explain that mine is 1916 in those terms...:whoop:
