How do I tell if I have a 117 S&S or the 107 S&S?

I got my service manual in the mail today for 2004 and it doesn't discuss a 117cu option for 2004. Is there a way to identify if it's the 107 or 117?

The right cover says "117 cubic inches 6-Speed Transmission"

The dude I bought it from is family...trust him with my life.

The question came up because the case says Super Sidewinder, the cylinders are super stock, and S&S website says the 117 is a Super Sidewinder Plus.

You have a Super Sidewinder. The SSW+ was introduced with the 05 models. It's basically an Evo lower with a Twin Cam breather system and a couple other changes like the crank sensor vice cam sensor.

i posted something similar way back. had same question myself. i got lil info from someone on here bout the fins on head come in around spark plug on 117 and are more of a square on 107. . since i was told that, i pay attention to other bikes and so far has been accurate.

Good tip.

I thought all SSW were a plus motor? Didn't know there were 2 versions. Whats the difference? My 04 has a SSW and I assumed it to be a plus because of the rear head breathers.

The 117 was an option for 04. Get the numbers of the case and call S&S tech support. They can tell you everthing about your engine.

True alhall88. But to be positive I would take pig pen;174758's advise. Since he isn’t the original owner for all we know the motor could have been upgraded or changed out at some point in its life.

Found another way to check...take the heads off. Had a problem with a seized spark plug and it mangled the threads pretty good, so the head had to go the machine shop...

Good News...it's a 117cu in...
