08 Pitbull Yet Another Problem

So I replaced the battery. Let it charge until the tender light was blinking green. The flipping thing still won't start. This bike has 800 miles on it. This is crazy, anyone want to buy a bike? . Anyhow, when I was taking this thing apart I loosen a wire on a gray solenoid or what looks like a small 2x1 gray solenoid that has two wires going to the top of it. When I attempted to loosen the right wire (as you are facing from the left side of the bike) the stud screw broke free from the body and spins freely now.

I have no idea what this part does, but when I turn the bike on it cha-lugs (a half ass attempt to turnover) once and dies, then the four ways turn on. Could the starter already be bad on this bike. It has a brand new battery so I know its now that.

Sounds like your circuit breaker. That should have nothing to do with starting but it does involve your charging system. That circuit breaker is for your voltage regulator.

Sounds battery related to me. Eventually there will be plenty of help chiming in to help you troubleshoot. I would suggest getting a service manual it will come in handy. In the mean time here is a snippet from 08 srvc manual showing the Pit battery setup (pg. 4).

Hey thanks a lot. I really appreciate the data. I ordered the manual on ebay for $55. It never came so I guess I will deal with that. I know the problem. Its a circuit breaker labeled "shortstop 24 VDC P30 40A". I contacted twin specialties in Raleigh, but they don't have the part. Do you know anyone with a healthy supply of 08 Pitbull parts. Yep, its my circuit breaker. Now how do I get one to Germany. I am in the Army and they don't have dealers here in Europe or shops that carry these parts. I now have a $27,000 paper weight.

Please let me know if you know anyone with these parts that will ship to an APO.

Before you press the starter button.
You have to hit the kill switch on, next to the starter
button to energize the EHC. Then the starter will turn.

When you turn the key on is the head light on then the battery is good.:flag:
