08 Mastiff Oil Tank Leak

HI Folks,

I need some input. My oil tank seems to be leaking around a weld where the oil line fitting connector is installed.

1 How big a deal is pulling the tank?

2 Would you have it welded up and pressure tested, or buy a new one, if possible?

well, if you bought a new one you should have it pressure tested also and if it leaked, you would have to get it welded anyway. i think i would stick with what i had. IMHO

are you sure its not just the hose fitting leaking. there shouldn't be a whole lot of pressure on it. maybe try breaking the fitting and put on some fresh teflon tape before you start taking out the tank.

Shark, oil tank should be fairly easy to pull. As for the welding, I would have it Tig welded that way you would only have to touch up the paint around the weld area as opposed to finding a new tank then having the whole thing painted.
