08 Mastiff Dyno Run

Energy One

I have 08 Mastiff, with V/H Big Radius, S&S Dual Runner intake and Carl's Speed Shop CM612 cam. Just got my Dyno run today. I was kinda bummed after I seen the numbers. I know from reading the numbers vary quite a bit. I just wanted to be one of the lucky ones I suppose. My Horsepower was 102, and Torque was 109. I thought that was extremely low. The shop seem to think it was normal from these motors and what I've done so far. What do you guys think??

dont know the specs to that cam but i'd bet you need to bump up the compression to see decent gains.

who installed or recommended the cam?

I've seen a lot of the numbers on this forum and I think it just matters how the bike feels. If it feels powerful then it is. Unless you are running on the drag strip or just need to out run your buddy....the numbers are all irrelevant.

My buddy has the screaming eagle 103...and took mine for a ride and couldn't believe the amount of power my dog had. and it wasn't just the power against what his harley had in the power bands...it was the power in any gear all the time.

I have an 09' with Hooker Trouble makers, no engine mods, other than a re-jet. The bike runs good, the bike feels good...I like to ride...the numbers don't matter much to me.

Just my .02

buck started a thread about his build and HP #'s and is looking for input.

if your not into performance then get out of the dyno runs section and stay in the polishing section.

from my understanding the V&H br's aren't the best at creating #'s . may want to consider a different set of pipes. maybe just try the washer trick in the BRs to adjust the back pressure.

Bikers dream of Atlanta, this is the cam they and several others recommended. Its a touch more than the S&S 600, from what I read about it.

wood is right - that exhaust is not particularly good for performance and the exhaust is a seriously major component where performance is concerned. Ideally you need to get a good 2 into 1 - RB racing seem to be about the best out there right now. Listen to Marv too - he knows what he is talking about with this stuff.

Replace the stock ignition module with thunderheart performance one so you can advance the timing, this will wake the bike up.Info is on this site under performance section.
