08 k9 fuel injected question

Is it a sign that the e h c is going when you turn key on and nothing no lights then you come back 2 minutes later and everything comes on and everything works again.

Loose connection somewhere
Bad battery
Pinched/broken/loose wire
EFI module
Key switch
Etc..


Need more info, need to do some basic trouble shooting.

Thanks jwooky for the reply. Long story short I'm in NC and bike is in California at californiabosshoss ready for delivery and this issue has come up. There mechanic is looking at it. The bike will have power and run and ride great. Come back hours or even days bike has no power, no lights nothing. Come back 10 min. Later a power again. It's and Eli motor.
Wish I could add more. I believe they put a new battery in.

check all your grounds. If you were sitting on the bike there is one under the seat that is notorious for getting loose. Other threads in here about this issue.

My K9 was doing the same thing. No lights just flashers going off. No power up lights on the EHC also. Then next day come out and everything would work and fire up and then the next nothing. Had enough so I ordered the RIP kit from Curtis and I am in the process of installing it now and hope to be finished in the next couple of days(Work keeps getting in the way of my fun lately) I will keep you posted.

Check the wire crimps on all wires at the battery.

I vote key switch.

Tell them to wiggle the key and see what happens.

I did all of that and nothing would make it work for me.

update found out what the problem was. The dealership found the two contacts on the ignition were loose. Bike started 24 times straight. Wish I could show pic on two prongs or contacts but have never seen what it looks like. Just want to do a post on what problem was. Thanks for all the replys.
