07 bulldog only honks horn

It was running great. Parked it in the car port and attached battery tender. Today I turn the key and the hazard lights flash and the horn honks until I turn the key off. No lights on ehc. Any ideas what this is? I read some similar treads but didn't see this specifically.

Low battery warning. Put a volt meter on the battery and see what you get

Even though the battery is new it might not be good - get the battery checked - least expensive way to trouble shoot right now. Check for any loose connections at the terminals

It could be humidity getting to the ehc. Let it sit in the sun for a while or inside where the humidity is lower and see if that changes anything.

Batt. Showing 12.86v steady. I parked under my car port but it did rain hard the morning prior to this development. Are the ehc so prone to this shit that being near rain can cause this? I'm bald so I don't own a hair dryer. It's wet shitty weather for days. No chance to dry in the sun. Ima try a blow dryer. Gonna borrow one. I've owned this bike since September ands It's given 2 good days.

I know this goes without saying...but be REAL careful with the hair dryer.....run it on low temp. Dont want you to melt a side cover or wiring.

Personally speaking, I think the ehc is sensitive to humidity. I have driven mine in the rain with no problems, but the first time I let it sit outside on humid night it went berserk until it dried out in the sun.(about 2 hours) I traced it down to the ehc while it was acting up. FWIW I have had coil packs on cars act up in high humidity also.

I'd suggest you have that battery load checked. If you have a dead cell that 12.86V will drop like a rock when trying to start the scoot.

Mine acted up a few years back and it was the wire crimps on the smaller wires were loose in the CRIMP at the batter terminals. Clean all the wire connections with a gun cleaning brass wire brush and battery posts. Do the EFI reset (See label under seat) after reconnecting the battery. Clean and lube the EHC connections at the ECH module but FIRST disconnect the battery then apply dielectric grease, search the forum for info.

Merry Christmas!

X2, dielectric grease will keep the humidity away too! :2thumbs:
