07 Big Dog k9 transmission interchange/repair

Hello,

I have an 07 Big Dog K9 that while driving locked up on me. I took the transmission apart and found 2 of the gears have teeth missing. I was wondering if anyone knew what other bikes had these Baker 6 speed transmissions and/or where I could get the parts to fix this? Really was hoping to not spend the $2k+ to get a gear assembly... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Tyler, when it locked up were you riding? If you were how fast were you going and what happened, as far as did the wheel lock up completely?

Yes BigDogTech (Andrew) has built a great reputation that is well deserved.
I need to contact him myself about my box not liking 3rd gear upshifts often. I try to do all my wrench work but havent pulled the cover and will likely send it to him if I do send it any where. If any one has any idea what the problem is you have my attention! Sorry Tyler for the intrusion....

I was going around 70 on the interstate and it locked up. slid for awhile, but managed to keep it up. got it to start moving in first for a bit and it kept locking up. I put it in neutral and was able to limp it to an exit. acted like it was in second gear while in neutral... In first it would not move. Hope that is detailed enough to give a decent account of what occured.

That's definitely detailed enough for me! Damn! Your lucky you did not eat shit on that one! Me and Ker were just talking about this cause I had a clunking sound coming from my tranny and Ker was saying that I need to be careful it could lock up on me, I asked him if he had ever heard of that happening and he said he had not, well now we have, thanks for the explanation Tyler!

Do you need a definition for clunking? First a pinging then smoke and fire and now a clunking. How do you have so much happen to a bike that sits on a stand in the garage?????

He keeps hitting the rev limiter while its on the stand cause there's no wind resistance. I had heard that John uses Bob's trailer to go to bike nights:chopper:. First one there and last to leave so nobody knows its a show bike only.:oldhardlaugh:

I heard the same thing too....no leaks either fluids are all empty ;)

You guys crack me up! Ahahahahaha! What the hell would ya do without me? It must of been boring as hell here when I had a little break a few months ago! Lol!
Believe me, in between the bike being on the stand I ride the shit out of that thing, maybe if you two Wankers rode more often your bikes would be on the stand also! Ahahahahahahahha!
