Hey Dogs, Has anyone experienced their exhaust bracket breaking? mine is broke at both welds, one at the frame mount and one at the pipes. also noticed that one of the nuts holding the rear exhaust to the head is missing. Bike has only 4200 miles on it. Bought it used though. Previous owner wore the bottom of the pipe off also. it has the Big Radius Exhaust System. Please feed this hurt dog some bones. Thanks:bang:

DOG 61 , the mounting tab on the swingarm broke , thats a weld & re-powdercoat project the bracket on the pipes you might be able to get welded or just a new set of pipes. the pipe flange nut is a simple replace and torque item.

yeah this has happened to a few people. I've personally lost exhaust flange nuts and top motor mount bolts. With the exhaust nuts you can double up so that you got a lock nut and with the top motor mount bolts you can use longer bolts - Ray has talked about this before - I think an extra 1/2" in length can be used.

It would be interesting to mount exhaust to a swingarm. :D

the early vance & hines BRs were shaped a little different than the current model making them more likely to drag causing undo pressure on the mounting bracket and thereby causing it to break. repair or replace/ your choice. you can also use a cutoff wheel to reshape the bottom pipe until it doesn't drag anymore. and, as lee said, tighten the flange nuts to spec and then put a second nut on as a jamb nut.

sorry i hadnt replied but sounds like we have had some problems. Welded the bracket after a complete grind job and done a full bead completely around the ends. Why would they just weld one side of the bracket ends? anyway solid as a rock now.
