06 K-9 Speedo and Tach

Aight guys i just recently purchased my 06 K9. The guy i purchased it from said that the tach had never worked the entire time he had it (2 previous owners) the speedo works inconsistently, maybe every other ride or so... When the speedo doesnt work i can key it off then back on and it will usually work the second time. The bike has wire plus installed from a bike shop somewhere in OKC. i removed the tank and checked the plugs coming from the speedo, cleaned them up but still didnt help the situation. gonna pull the tank back off this week and check/clean all the connectors. not sure where the tach sensor is located on the bike.. Any advice or info you guys can give me on solving this issue?

Just pop the speedo off and look inside ?

If you look around on this site you will find a fair amount about your tac. etc, I to have a 2006 K9 - I am not much of a typer but if you want to call I can give you some good info. - I have had same problems in pass and no most the fixes. 717-382-9983

My speedo was working really irratic. Would jump around all over the place. Tach worked fine. Checked it out and everything looked okay. Replaced it with a new Medallion and haven't had a problem since.
