hello to all.
this is one issue that has us going nuts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have 2 06's big dog chopper that belong to me. they are identical.
i have one bike with the cluster and speedo, the whole thing wont light up. everything on the bike workes perfectly. but the damn cluster and speedo , zip !
i proceeded to remove parts off my good bike where all is working :
- speedo, cluster exchanged. all work fine on the good bike.
- harness for the speedo and cluster that goes to under the tank with 2 plugs.., i figured maybe a broken wire on the bad bike, so i removed the harness. i install it with my cluster and speedo connected to the good bike and all works perfectly.
- so i know for a fact that my cluster, the harness goung under the tank with 2 plugs is good .
- next , i take the ehc from the bad bike and install to the good bike, the ehc works great. all work including the cluster and speedo.
- i install he ehc back to the bad bike.
-seems like i have a harness issue ?
i split apart both big bplugs on teh ehc.. no cut wires, nowehere.
- i notices 3 man wires to one of the big plugs, a red that goes straight to the battery + , a green that goes to the starter, and a blue that isnt used and was tie wrapped with another small 2 wire plug together...tucked away.
the red wire has 12 volts from the battery.
my coputer lights up ,
everything works other than the complete cluster .
i notice the cluster harness comes from the other main ehc plug... yet, i have zero broken wires...
the ehc works pefectly and lights up my cluster when i transfer it to my other bike !!!!!!
what else can i swap or test or try ? i am out of ideas..
i will pay someone to walk me through the steps.. i am lost here !
