05 Ridgeback Oil Change

Just wanted to make sure I put in the correct amount of oil on my 1st change:
Filled my K&N 170C filter 1/2 way and installed
3qts Mobil 1 20/50 and the level came to just the bottom of the filler neck

The book diagram shows a different style filler neck and mine is long so pretty sure I have it correct; if wrong please let me know.

Thx Franco I knew I could count on your expertise.
I only have the primary left to change and hard time find Spectro Chaincase can I use Mobil 1 syn 20w50 ?

Its advised not to run syn oil on a stock clutch set-up...

Lots being said about not using Syn in the Primary..... I am using Amsoil in both, Primary & Motor, and had not issues whatsoever.

Further on... when Andrew was here we inspected my clutch and showed NO signs of slippage at all. I keep using Amsoil in all holes.

Brew I have heard no syn in primary and then Franco has been running it for years without issue...........I cant find Spectro chaincase without buying it online.

Ugghh................tough decision.

You can always go to another brand.... any HD dealers near you?

Also, if syn doesn't work for you, then you can change it later on.... no damage will be done. As far as I am concern, clutch slippage is due to a bad adjustment... not the syn oil. (but that´s just me)

Franco I am with you , because my Husky had for 10 years the last five years syn oil no prblem , my K9 only syn also my harley :2thumbs:so far run great, and I read about syn oil before I used it and they say less wear on your parts and more miles before you change your oil .

I went to local HD dealer and bought the primary plus..........seems to work fine; next oil change I will run all Amsoil as I found some local.
