05 Pitbull wont start

The motor is reving way to fast, almost like its going to blow, it actually blew the exhaust out of its joint under the drive pully.

There no way i can keep running it this way, to warm up.

1. something is holding it wide open? check cables and make sure the throttle closes all the way in.

2. The Idle screw... from "engagement" means first couple turns to screw it into the Carb.... NOT all the way in (seated) !!!!

I got the revs down to about 2000rpm, alot of small backfiring and after 5 minutes warming up, the front headpipe turned oranges as hell, and was ready to , well it was smoking and took while for it to cool down. This pipe was the hottest it could probaly get.

I got new plugs, set at the basic setting of carb to the S&S Cycle specs, running good, but front exhaust pipe head is getting cherry red.
Dont know whats next to do!!!

I would check to make sure you got the right type of plugs. Is your pipe red at the manifold? You may have blown the gaskets out when the engine was idling fast. Check your exhaust gasket
