Gas Man, I'm having the same clutch problem that surferdude described above. How do you get to, and adjust the transmission bolt (trans nut) you mentioned on your reply?

Many thanks in advance.

I just took my transmission cover off and I found that the nut on the clutch was just finger tight if at all ???? that's why I counldn't adjust the pushrod like the spec says!!!!!!!! Looked at the clutch carrier and it's still in one piece so I put everything back ... tighen the nuts to spec and the pushrod adjustment is now in spec. Yahooo!!! I still have a Bandit clutch that I will install in the near future ... it hasn't arrived yet ... it's not that hard to do ... got the primary cover ready to go for the Bandit ... I feel better now after seeing the clutch and plates. Thanks for all the info ... especially Rod for checking up on me and the rest of you guys. :hi: :D :flag:

who is nelson ? my friends shop (criminal customs) have been doing a lot of work on big dogs lately . 4 of them in the past month or so. also they are not a repair shop just bike builders/customizers . but they will do work for friend or friends of friends.

and they have to travel kinda far to the closest dealer, go in order the part. then wait and go back to pick it up. nelson would be a huge help if they keep getting more dogs in.

YOU WILL DIG THE BANDIT CLUTCH! IT WILL BE THE BEST BUCKS YOU CAN SPEND ON YOUR BIKE. I NEVER HAD A CLUTCH ISSUE ONE ON ALL THE HD'S
I HAD BEFORE STEPPING UP TO BDM AND WAS VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE SAME ISSUES SO MANY OTHER FOLKS HAVE HAD. BIT THE BULLET, MADE THE CHANGE AND AM A HAPPY CAMPER NOW.
