Looking for info from current & former owners of the 05 Chopper.
What was the stock cam, carburetor on this model and what changes did you make?

Your review on this bike's performance and any issues encountered while owned.

I've looked thru the tech. section already but was looking for first hand experiences pro & con and what to look for on the 05 Chopper.

Any and all info & comments are appreciated.
Thanks in advance :2thumbs:

I think the cam was a 580 something with an "E" carb and intake restrictors. I change mine out earlier this year and when with a 600 S&S cam, larger valves and springs. Remove the intake restrictors. She runs like she's suppose to now, big difference in performance.

Stock 05 had a Comp Cams .569 cam with duration made to big dog specs. Carb is a S&S E, that also had restrictor plates between the intake manifold and the cylinder head.
Remove the restrcitor plates and change out the exhaust and the motor produced good low end torque !

I did pretty much the same. .600 cam and racing heads. gonna do a super G carb this fall and maybe a Bandit clutch. my 05' runs like a scalded dog!

My stock '05 Chopper dyno'd at 80 HP. Then I removed the restrictor plates, replaced the stock Super 'E' carb with the triple X 'E' carb, and changed from the Arlen Ness pipes to the Bassani. Had the bike dyno'd again and it's now 105 HP!!!

I went with the Woods 650 cam and heavier springs. Removed restrictor plates, added VH BR but left the E carb for better low end. Runs like a dog kicked in the nuts and never been challanged.
