'04 Ridgeback Starter clutch question

I'm getting ready to remove my starter due to my constant hard start issue ( dreaded zing sound ). I was told that it sounds like the starter clutch needs to be replaced. Is this something that can be tackled by a weekend wrench turner? Sorry, it's my first bike starter pull. (I rebuilt my '78 Fiat engine by myself so I have faith. Just no hands on knowledge of bike starter parts). What's the best replacement part? Is there anything that I should be sure not to do? or to make sure that I do? Thanks
