04 ridgeback ehc

i am the owner of a 04 ridgeback. And i will post some pics soon. I had the same problem with my tranny. In neutral coasting at 35 mph and bam. It goes to hell. And my warranty had just expired.

Now i am looking for a EHC for it and cant find a reasonable vendor after me saving the money because the link i saved is on a forum that no longer exist. There used to be a girl in Kansas City Ms that had a good buy on them.

I have replaced bulbs thinking it has been the headlights and then it would not have a low beam or vice a versa. Then it would run for a while and die.
This led me to think i had over heated it or the kill switch was faulty.

Overall i have a bike that has about 6000 miles and is serves as a hole i throw money in. I am disgusted with it no matter how good it looks. If someone can help me find a ehc please pm or paste a link. Thanks jason

I have used the search engine and cant find nothing. Maybe i am being lazy but all advice is appreciated.

Well first off "Welcome to the site".

Sorry to hear you are having so many problems with your scoot. I will be the first to admit that I have had my share also but I have done many things to eliminate these problems and you will find all of them here.
I just passed the 50,000 mile mark on my 05 Chopper and it runs like the energizer bunny.

First off you need to keep you bike on a battery tender. It discharges something like 1.5 mW a day according to the manual.
Second, you need to go over all your wiring and seal it up with die-electric grease and shrink wrap it for a good seal.

My next question would be why you think your EHC is bad? Do you diagnostic lights not come on when you turn the key on? What lights do you get? The headlight is a know problem and I would ensure you don't have one of those high intensity lights inside it.

Give us some more info and we can help you out. For parts we now go through Nelson or WBCycles on here. The lady you are talking about was Pinkchopper and she is still on here and can get you none BD parts as I understand it now.

Good luck,
Ray

Thanks and it is a pleasure to be here.

It has been such a long time since i have had it hooked up to a battery because i have a few bikes that i cant tell you what is blinking but i will get it done soon and get back with you. I am puzzled at the headlights because i have tried many and one i can say was a high intensity. But it just dying and or not starting after cranking it on and on in all variations (cold, hot, choked, not choked, three twist and or no twist on the throttle) coupled with my research on the net led me to believe it is the ehc.

I may be wrong but when i spent the money we all spend on motorcycles i feel frustrated that they didn't send me school to learn to work a product that should be dependable? And with the times as tuff as they are now its overwhelming when it is 300 here 500 there.

I feel bad for you - I've been lucky with mine so far - touch wood

I agree with Ray in asking why you think its the EHC - from what I can tell too many people jump to that same conclusion without checking other things first, and that seems to include certain dealers.

If you're having electrical issues you should shoot a pm to Ohmster on this site if he doesn't chime in here - he is the electrical guru
