04 Mastiff Left Turn Signal activates Emerg Flashers but not the Left Light by itself

My 2004 Mastiff Left Turn Signal will not work normally, when I push the button on the left handlebar. When I push the Left Turn button the emergency flashers come on and the headlight turns off. I can turn off the emergency flasher mode by depressing both turn signal buttons. The Right signal button works normally.

I would appreciate some ideas on how to troubleshoot the problem.

Sounds like you are at the beginnings of an EHC failure.
Do you have the single harness connector EHC or the dual harness connector?
