04 Cracked Frame

Pulled the tank chasing a wire issue and this is what we found...I know some 03-04? had a recall on cracking frames but about a year ago this bike was at the factory and the service manager asked if the frame had been repaired...he looked at the frame under the tank (tank was on) and said yep, its been done on this bike...so I'm thinking this frame is cracked "outside" of the original repair...tried using a link for the NHTSA but the pics are shit so cant confirm the crack issue is the same location as previously known...any info would be appreciated....this bike is going to the factory Tuesday for show and tell, hopefully they will stand up and fix it.

They will most likely replace the frame for you. Is it an RT frame?

Dam, your luck is as shitty as mine. Glad you found the crack and its coming up on the end of the riding season. I'm sure they will take care of the problem,

That's a damn shame. Be sure and let us know how they handle this for you. Surely they will fix it. Don't want to look there on my own 04 right now, scared what I'll find. Good luck with it.

That's the best idea. And BDM is usually fine with most ideas like that.

When I had my 03 Chopper the frame cracked on it and they replaced it.

Just returned from BDM, a new frame is being ordered, we are going to tig weld the crack for now till the new frame makes it in, 2-3 weeks or so....BDM said this is the first one they have seen crack since the recall action..

03-04 owners ya might want to check yours, btw this bike has 25K miles on it.
