04 big dog started smokeing after 60 miles

i have a 2004 big dog with the 117 s&s and me and a friend went for a ride. and after 60 miles or so it started smokeing out of front exhaust. after it cooled down it didnt smoke any more. would that be the rings u thank? thanks

Nice introduction, who are you, tell us a little about who you are, what you do, Pictures of your bike and how long you have been riding you get the idea.

No if it was the rings it would smoke all the time. Maybe valve stem oil seals or Valve guides.

i just got this started sorry and and i just got my big dog about a month ago and i love it. other than this i was doing some searching and it was making a noise in the top in end. i pulled the caps off the vales and every thing seamed tight and didnt see anythang wrong. thanks for the welcome.

I think you are looking at the wrong thing Nick. In order to replace the valve oil seal you have to take the valve springs off. You can't very well tell by just looking. You may need to have a valve job done. Tell the shop to replace the valve guides and seals. In order to do that you will have to take the heads off. Good Luck
