03 pitbull oil level

Hi everyone got a 03 pitbull and no service manual can someone tell me where oil level should be in tank does not have a dipstick. I guess im the dipstick . Thanks Donnie 107 cubic inch

1" below the top of the oil tank with the bike upright is where I keep my 02' Prosport.

I quote this from the free download-able owners manual..."Remove the oil cap by turning it counter clockwise. The oil level should be 1.5" below the rear lip of the oil cap bung. Use caution to not overfill the oil tank." Your oil tank on a 03 Pit Bull is (again from the service manual) "Oil Tank Capacity after Draining Not including engine or oil filter is 2 1/2 Quarts." Also; "When checking the oil level, the motorcycle must be straight up and level." In other words, I just use a tad less than 3 quarts, in my 03 Pit Bull. Hope this helps.

Nope ..not a dipstick.. 03 choppers dont have them either..but the manual says 1 1/2 form the top(were the plug is) to oil level.....it shows mesuring from the (BACK part of the plug) of the oil tank down..

jersey james does it show if measurement from rear of bung hole is made from bottom of opening or top of fill hole down. i would assume from the bottom of opening inside tank not from the very top of opening

Best way to describe it would be to open Slick-Dog's ~ "attached Thumbnail" and you can see it in the diagram. The diagram is from the free owner's manual, you can download & print for yourself. It's the service manual that will set you back a few bucks.

Gents,

I did see somewhere (I think it was ay the BDM Performance Products | A Better Big Dog Motorcycles Parts Provider page) an Oil cap with deep stick attached... I've been trying to find it again with no luck... This page is very crap actually!!! Does any one knows/remember where to buy one of those?
