just came back from a short evening ride and my bike starts to cut out at the low end of the power band whether it's cold or hot.the idle has an even thump to it but as i crack the throttle it acts like its a loaded up (hesitates).this has been going on for a week and seems to be gettin worse...yea i pulled the plugs and they have a nice clean burn, the exaust pipesssoot has a nice even dark grey tan color to it (good burn) here is some recent changes i did about a week ago....oil change...and added more restriction to 18"rear exaust pipe(baffle adjustment) due to it being too short and not enough back pressure. prior to my ride tonight i reset my baffle to it's previous setting to eliminate this variable, but the intermitent problem is still there...could it be an electronic ignition module issue or a fuel starvation issue ?

Pull your bowl and check for crap in it ... at least that's where I would start ... hope you find a fix for the problem soon ... :D :flag:

My wife's '03 had the lining of the gas tank separate and continued to cause fuel flow issues until I recently re-lined the tank. Every time I pulled the plug on the bottom of the bowl, it was filled with rust like residue. Large pieces of liner would wrap around the petcock filter. It was a damn mess. Take a flashlight and shine down into your tank. You'll see it if it's separated. Thin green/yellow pieces. I used Caswell tank liner and it was not that big an issue to do. Keep us posted on what you find.

Check the carb. Pull the jets and see what numbers you have.

What rpm and/or speed does this happen?
